Snow Capped Cider Achieves Double Victory at the 2024 Good Food Awards

Snow Capped Cider, the beloved Austin, Colorado cidery led by Kari Williams, proudly clinches two esteemed 2024 Good Food Awards for their exceptional Winesap and Porter’s Perfection ciders. These accolades, bestowed upon only the finest American food and drink producers, recognize Snow Capped Cider's unwavering dedication to sustainability, social responsibility, and artisanal craftsmanship.

From a pool of nearly 2,000 contenders, Snow Capped Cider emerged triumphant alongside 214 other remarkable makers, showcasing the diversity and excellence of American culinary ingenuity. With a notable representation of women-owned businesses among this year's winners, the Good Food Awards celebrate inclusivity and innovation in the culinary world.

“I am humbled and honored to be recognized among all these amazing producers," said Snow Capped Cider Owner and Head Cidermaker Kari Williams. "It’s incredible to see how many women owned businesses were awarded this year."

Now in its 14th year, the Good Food Awards ceremony in Portland, Oregon, was a vibrant celebration of culinary excellence. Attendees were greeted by Oregon Congressman Earl Blumenauer, and the evening was filled with inspiring speeches from luminaries such as Dana Cowin and Ari Weinzweig, underscoring the importance of sustainable and ethical food practices.

“My wish for you is that tonight is just the start of the celebration and the rejuvenation that you deserve. That having struggled to care for your team and farmers and customers over many years, you can let those around you rise up and carry some of the burden. That you make time to explore new delights, to cultivate your gardens. That you refill your well so your creations can continue to be powered by the vibrant energy and singular vision only you can bring to them,” said Good Food Founder and Executive Director Sarah Weiner.

Nestled in the majestic Colorado Rockies, Snow Capped Cider draws upon over a century of family orchard heritage, cultivating apples at elevations of 6130-7000 feet. This unique mountain terroir imparts a distinct crispness to their ciders, capturing the essence of Colorado in every sip.

With an impressive track record of awards, including previous wins for their Ashmead’s Kernel, Blanc Mollet, Dabinett, and Harrison ciders, Snow Capped Cider stands as a beacon of excellence in the cider-making world. Each cider is a testament to their commitment to authenticity, crafted solely from 100% Colorado estate-grown fruit.

“We are always so proud and excited for the opportunity to put Colorado cider on the map and showcase the amazing flavors created by the Rocky Mountains,” said Williams.

In 2024, Snow Capped Cider stands as the lone Colorado cidery to receive this prestigious recognition. Explore the full list of 2024 winners on the Good Food Foundation website.
