12 Great Ugly Beer Christmas Sweaters

Do you like Christmas? Of course you do! What about beer? You’re reading this story, aren’t you?! As such, you’re going to love this list of 12 Great Ugly Beer Christmas Sweaters!

Right up there with wrapping presents and baking cookies, wearing an over-the-top Christmas sweater has evolved to become a new holiday tradition over the past few decades. Some say it can be traced back to the late 80s/early 90s with the release of future holiday staple National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. However, it wasn’t until the early 2000s when the idea of wearing an “ugly” holiday sweater took off.

Holiday parties began encouraging guests to come in their most outrageous Christmas sweaters –- which are often red or green with tacky patterns. They can also be completely over-the-top; replete with bells, tinsel or even flashing lights! Even though you can expect to see this apparel all season long, the third Friday in December is officially National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day.

Of course, the beer world was going to get in on all the seasonal fun. Breweries across the country host ugly sweater gatherings, have their own versions of holiday sweaters with their brewery name, and even got some inspiration for beers themselves (Almanac Beer Co. in Alameda, California has Ugly Sweater Love Hazy IPA, Iron Horse Brewery in Ellensburg, Washington released Cozy Sweater Stout, and The Fermentorium in Cedarburg, Wisconsin made Sweater Weather Imperial Milk Stout, to name a few).

We’ve found some ugly Christmas sweaters that combine this holiday tradition with the love of beer.

Great Ugly Beer Christmas Sweaters

Santa with Beer Helmet

Santa with Beer Helmet
Santa Claus is known the world over for his appearance: big beard, belly like a bowl full of jelly, always wears red, etc. This sweater reimagines the Christmas hero as a recliner-bound beer drinker with his famous red stocking cap augmented with two beer cans connected to two hoses that Santa is gladly slurping on.

holiday cheers beer christmas sweaters

Holiday Cheers!
This bright ugly holiday beer sweater shows a standard Christmas scene – Santa by the roaring fireplace holding a stocking, with a view from the window of snowy fields and evergreen trees. But there’s more to this holiday stocking than meets the eye. It doubles as a beer bottle holder so you can keep your hands free during your holiday celebrations. Handy when you’re grabbing gifts (or stealing Santa’s cookies).

Heineken Beer Sweater

Heineken Beer Sweater
While this famed Dutch beer likes to play to a more refined audience with its new 0.0 brand and its massive James Bond marketing campaigns over the years, sometimes a good (ugly) Christmas sweater gets the job done just as well. This striking sweater features the Heineken logo surrounded by various holiday imagery. The green Heineken color blends in perfectly on a holiday sweater.

pong beer christmas sweaters

Beer Pong
This ugly Christmas sweater takes it up a notch by being a three-dimensional interactive sweater and a guaranteed attention-grabber at any seasonal event. The evergreen tree, topped with a glowing star, has six detachable plastic cups on it, designed to inspire a game of a favorite beer-drinking pastime: beer pong.

Baby Yoda Hold My Beer

Baby Yoda Hold My Beer
The breakout character from Disney's The Mandalorian show was obviously Baby Yoda (aka Grogu, his real name). This absolutely adorable little fellow captured the hearts and minds of all that watched the show and, as such, he has spawned a cottage industry of merchandise with his visage. Christmas sweaters are no exception, as this one features Baby Yoda clutching a mug of beer in hand and telling someone (probably Mando) to hold his beer before he uses the Force to save the day again. Merry Christmas, Grogu!

Reindeer with Beer

Reindeer with Beer
While this list is meant for ugly beer Christmas sweaters, this one actually looks pretty good. Nice black base, vivid yellows and reds and reindeer clinking beer tankards? It's a Christmas miracle!

Beer Can Holder Sweater

Beer Can Holder Sweater
This sweater allows you to holster four cans of beer in tight little coozies under the Christmas tree, a perfect representation of the gift that is beer that keeps on giving all year-round. Pop open one can and save the others for later, but don't open all four and forget about them lest you want some spillage on your hands (or pants).

Let's Get Lit with Rudolph

Let's Get Lit with Rudolph
This amusingly punny Christmas sweater features everyone's favorite reindeer, Rudolph, pouring some beer and saying "let's get lit," a nifty double entendre that refers to both his flashlight-esque schnoz as well as beer's ability to get people in the holiday spirit (aka quite tipsy).

Coors Banquet Sweater

Coors Banquet Sweater
This iconic American lager gets the ugly Christmas sweater treatment and the results are... not that ugly? The cream coloration, gold and burgundy accents and omnipresent Rocky Mountains in the center actually make this fairly attractive. Still though, all of its classy looks can't deny the fact you're wearing a Coors Banquet garment.

Sexy Santa Sweater

Sexy Santa Sweater
Whoa. This is... a lot. This, erm, "striking" sweater features Saint Nick in the buff, posing suggestively in front of a roaring fireplace with only a gift box covering up his Santa-manhood. This sweater is sure to get a barrel of laughs at whatever party you wear it to, especially considering it features four motion-activated lights to truly bring home the classy vibe.

Reindeer Beer Cooler

Reindeer Beer Cooler
Much like our other sweaters that holster beers, this sweater features a pouch that holds a bottle of beer in it around the stomach area (fitting). In this one, two reindeer are relaxing with sunglasses on with an open cooler in front of them, which you can slide your own beer into in order to share with them.

Santa's Craft Shop

Santa's Craft Shop
This striking red, green and gold ensemble features the standard hirsute Santa Claus, though this version is brandishing a lovely snifer of craft beer in front of a few gleaming fermentation tanks. Clearly, Mr. Claus has a side hustle for the other 364 days of the year when he's not delivering gifts to good boys and girls.
