Lakefront Brewery Welcomes Local Swedish Community For New Year's Eve Event

Available to the public, Lakefront is celebrating Sweden's deep Wisconsin roots with a special public event this New Year's Eve.

Lakefront Brewery Welcomes Local Swedish Community For New Year's Eve Event
According to the Swedish American Historical Society of Wisconsin, Gustaf Unonius was one of the first Swedes to emigrate to the United States in 1841. Unonius settled on what is now known as Pine Lake just outside of Waukesha County. His letters to Swedish, Danish, and Finnish newspapers regarding pioneer life and quality farming sparked a wave of immigration by Scandinavians to the Midwest. Flash forward to today and over 135,000 Swedish Americans reside in the state.

Lakefront Brewery welcomes all to celebrate the Swedish New Year on December 31st from 3PM to 7PM and recognize the heritage that exists here in the greater Milwaukee area. Sweden rings in the New Year at 5PM CST, therefore, a live Swedish television feed will provide a proper countdown to share in their celebration from across the pond.

While Lakefront will remain open to the general public, a $35 ticket is required to access the event. The ticket includes your first beverage (beer, wine, cocktail, soda) on the house, a champagne toast at 5PM, as well as a Swedish-inspired buffet carefully curated by our Executive Chef, Kristin Hueneke. Expect a properly decorated Beer Hall, Swedish music consisting of both modern and traditional tunes, and plenty of dancing.

Join the local Swedish community in celebrating Midnight at 5PM! For more information, visit Lakefront Brewery’s website
