The Brewer's Association has reported that in 2015, American craft beer exports grew by 16.3 percent, for a total of 446,151 barrels valued at $116 million.
All major markets saw growth, but the most significant increases were seen in Western Europe, which grew by 33 percent, led by Ireland and the Netherlands.
Canada remained the top importer of American craft, accounting for 51 percent, while Sweden, Ireland and the UK all accounted for 10 percent, followed by Australia, at four percent.
“Small and independent craft brewers are putting American beer on the global map,” said Bob Pease, president and CEO of the BA. “There’s a growing thirst from beer lovers in countries around the world for bold, innovative products from American craft brewers. As the demand for American craft beer continues to grow abroad, the Brewers Association is pleased to support our members by increasing their access to international markets.”
Thailand and Taiwan also saw major increases, leading the way for 12.5 percent growth in the region.
