StillFire Brewing Begins Construction

StillFire Brewing in Suwanee, Georgia has announced that construction has begun on the brewery in downtown Suwanee.

StillFire Brewing, a new community-oriented brewery opening in the heart of downtown Suwanee this fall, has begun construction to convert the Gwinnett County Fire Station 13 across from Town Center Park  into a high-end industrial-style taproom and 20-barrel brewery. The groundbreaking took place on April 22nd with brewery founders, city council members, and Mayor Jimmy Burnette present.

“We have been working on this project for over three years now and we are extremely excited and appreciate everyone’s support from the community,” said co-founder John Bisges, “The brewery is really all about community and we can’t wait to get started.”

The  vision of Randall and Angela Veugeler, founders of Suwanee Beer Fest and Suwanee Magazine, and John Bisges, a UGA grad and local business leader, and his wife, Lori, a real estate executive, StillFire Brewing will showcase the brewing expertise of Brewmaster, Phil Farrell, a nationally-known home brewer. Among his many accolades, Farrell has won the gold medal at the U.S. Open Beer Championship and is a grand master beer judge who judges prestigious beer competitions around the world.

Set to open in  September 2019, the StillFire team is excited to share their passion for killer beer with the community. “The primary focus of our brewery will be building a place that can become more than just a resident watering hole, but instead, a treasured local institution,” said co-founder John Bisges. “We want Suwanee to be a thriving community. We see the taproom as a place where people from all walks of life can come by, enjoy a pint and spend time with friends or make new ones.”

Plans are in place for an outdoor stone patio and an adjoining green space where customers can play cornhole and other games, enjoy live music, and order food from onsite food trucks or a non-alcoholic craft root beer for the kids, as well as a to-go window that will allow patrons to take advantage of the park’s open container policy. The brewery will also be available for event rentals and will include a space set aside for a future kitchen addition. Brewery tours will be offered during specific hours.
