Rockhoppers Brew Club

The Rock Hoppers Brew Club is one of Colorado's newest homebrewing clubs. It all began in late 2007 with a call out to area homebrewers by Jim Stinson, head brewer at the Rockyard American Grill and Brewing Company, located in Castle Rock, just south of the Denver-metro area. Desiring to have a local club and pay homage to his homebrewing roots, Jim was instrumental in securing sponsorship from Rockyard, who provide meeting and event space for the club.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Anyone can call themselves an expert on beer. But when consumers want great beer they need help from a server who really knows beer flavors, styles, and service. They also want to buy beer from a place that understands proper storage and serving so the beer they drink will taste the way it should. Too often great beer is harmed by improper handling and service practices.

Brouwerij Palm

The history of PALM Breweries goes back to 1686. At that time Theodoor Cornet, estate manager of Diepensteyn Castle, was the proprietor of an inn opposite the church in Steenhuffel. He brewed beer and distilled jenever there for his guests, also brewing a heavier “Counts’ beer” for the Lords of Diepensteyn, Counts of Maldeghem-Steenhuffel. In 1747, Anne Cornet converted it into a small top-fermentation village brewery, selling beer to the inhabitants of the village.
