Odell Brewing Co. Chief Operations Officer Brendan McGivney Talks Good Behavior

We spoke with Odell Brewing Co. Chief Operations Officer Brendan McGivney about Good Behavior.

BC: Who came up with this beer’s recipe?
All recipe development at Odell Brewing is a group effort from our R&D team. We are a proudly independent, employee-owned brewery and we truly believe we achieve the best results through collaboration.

BC: What’s your favorite aspect of this beer (flavor, aroma, etc.)?
I am absolutely in love with HBC 586, the featured hop in Good Behavior. The overall hop aroma intensity is high while the flavor comes across as a sweet fruit cocktail, which helps provide some balance to a light dry malt profile.

BC: Can you describe this beer in 10 words or less?
IPA if looking for a lower ABV or lower calories.

BC: Where does this beer’s name come from?
Good Behavior's name comes from the idea that, with balance, you can have it all. Most low-calorie IPAs either have no body at all to support the hops, or use adjuncts to artificially create a sweetness in place of the malts to create that balance. Good Behavior has it all – bright hop flavors and a malt body big enough to balance all hops. All of this in a 110-calorie package.
