Side Bae Double IPA: Cashmere by Wild Leap Brew Co. was judged as a Double India Pale Ale (BJCP 2022 Guidelines Style 22A).

The head aggregated quickly then subsided with some nice lacing as the tasting session progressed. The immediate aromas provided included coconut, papaya, green onion and pine. These hop-infused aromas were also backed with a light bread, almost french toasty character, but with a hint of alcohol developing as the beer warmed. Flavors within the beer were a medium intense bitterness, with pine, coconut and dried apple notes. Mouthfeel was medium, with a short fall in aftertaste when compared to other more classic examples of the style. Overall, an enjoyable double india pale ale, on the milder side of bitterness, but exhibits a fairly intense dank component that might not be to everyone’s liking.
