Blood Orange IPA (Non-Alcoholic) by Bravus Brewing Co. is being evaluated as a Fruit Beer (Category 29A) from the 2015 BJCP Style Guidelines.
Blood Orange IPA pours light gold with a light haze. The fine white head lingers throughout. The aroma opens up with light grainy malt then transitions to moderate orange with a hint of resin. No esters develop behind the orange and hop character.
The flavor features moderate orange zest and orange juice, with light grainy malt developing behind. A touch of grapefruit pith and resin sneaks in mid-palate, along with moderately high hop bitterness that grows as it passes through the dry finish. The orange character lingers into and throughout the aftertaste. A medium-light body and moderate carbonation finishes off this beer.
This is a flavorful non-alcoholic fruited IPA. The blood orange character is present but not dominant and integrates itself well into the beer. It is both enjoyable and refreshing.
