Snow Capped Cider, the distinguished Colorado-based apple grower and cider producer led by Kari Williams, is thrilled to announce its recognition as a finalist for the prestigious 2024 Good Food Awards. Standing alongside 311 top-tier companies across various categories, Snow Capped Cider emerged as a standout contender through a blind-tasting test and rigorous sustainability vetting process, showcasing its commitment to producing exceptional, responsibly sourced cider.
The Good Food Foundation, dedicated to celebrating contributors transforming the American food system, selected finalists from a pool of over 1,650 entrants. A panel of more than 200 judges meticulously evaluated submissions across 18 unique categories, employing blind taste tests and thorough assessments of sustainable practices, work environments, diversity, and more.
Says owner and head cidermaker Kari Williams, “It is an honor to be recognized as a finalist among many amazing companies in the food and beverage space. We put a lot of thoughtfulness and care into our products and are proud to show that some of the best apples lie in Colorado’s Western Slope.”
Snow Capped Cider's Akane, Elevation 6642, Porters Perfection, and Winesap were spotlighted in the cider category of finalists. Notably, two of these, released in Snow Capped Cider's 2023 Specialty 375 ml line, drew inspiration from historically significant apples. The complete list of 2024 Good Food Award Finalists can be found here.
This accolade adds to Snow Capped Cider's previous recognitions, including a 2023 award for Ashmead’s Kernel cider, a 2022 award for Blanc Mollet cider, and two wins in 2021 for Dabinett and Harrison ciders. The brand has consistently earned accolades at national competitions, with notable achievements at the CiderCraft Awards and Great Lakes International Cider and Perry Competition (GLINTCAP) in 2022 and 2023.
With a rich family legacy spanning over 100 years in the orchard industry, Snow Capped Cider, established in 2014, places a strong emphasis on superior cider-specific fruit cultivated in Colorado. Drawing inspiration from authentic orchard-based English and French styles, the brand eliminates the need for artificial sugars, ensuring a clean and fresh taste in their high-quality cider.
