Stone Delicious Citrus IPA

Stone Delicious Citrus IPA

California
United States
Stone Delicious Citrus IPA, Stone Brewing
Description

Stone Delicious IPA has been a rising star in our lineup thanks to its intense lemony-herbal flavor and aroma. That got us thinking… Why not amp up the citrus factor even more? Adding Talus hops to the mix brings in vibrant tangerine notes which are further amplified by the addition of sweet orange peel. The result is extra citrusy, extra juicy and extra Delicious.

Stone Delicious Citrus IPA by Stone Brewing Co. was judged as an American IPA (#21A) according to the 2021 BJCP Style Guidelines. The pour of this beer revealed a light golden hue with chill haze. It had a very nice carbonation that revealed a rocky white head and good retention. The aroma of this beer was very apparent with the first sniff of citrus notes that may have included lemons, oranges and tangerines. The flavor of this beer was well balanced between the malt sweetness and the moderately hopped beer. It had nice citrus flavors, again detecting possible lemons, oranges and tangerines. The IPA was moderately hopped and was not overly aggressive in its bittering. It definitely was juicy with the citrus flavors dominating while the malt sweetness was evident in the background. It also seemed to have a bit of a "pith" taste of citrus peel in the finish? The mouthfeel of this beer was medium and the carbonation was just perfect, almost creamy in texture. This beer was nicely balanced with good citrus flavors throughout which were evident, but not overpowering in some other examples similar to this beer. Smooth finish with a bit of drying in the palate.
