Sour Continuum with Pink Guava by Six Bridges Brewing is a Berliner Weisse with pink guava, judged as BJCP Category 29A, Fruit Beer. This beer is a milky orange color and very cloudy. It has a tall fluffy head that dissipates quickly, but rouses easily. There is an initial burst of yeastiness in the aroma when poured, which quickly gives way to a pleasant tangy, sweet smell. There is a pronounced fruity aroma, which may be perceived as citrus- or raspberry-like if the drinker is unfamiliar with pink guava. This beer is similarly fruity in the flavor and carries a moderately light tartness. It is light on the tongue and highly carbonated, finishing dry and crisp. Although it’s not necessary to use exotic fruits to punch up a Berliner Weisse (domestic fruits and berries can work just as well), this example’s balance and drinkability should have wide appeal.
