Description

Thirst-quenching, crisp & snappy are all adjectives that come to mind when drinking this fresh, light Mexican-style lager. We use Vienna malt and corn to give the malt profile just enough oomph to separate this beer from its mass produced imported and domestic counterparts. Authentic lager yeast and cold fermentation ensure it ends up a dry, even-keeled session beer. A beer for all reasons.

Tierra Madre by Mother Earth Brew Co. is a Lager and is being evaluated as an International Pale Lager (category 2A in the 2015 BJCP Beer Style Guidelines). International Pale Lagers are golden-colored lagers with less adjuncts than typical American lagers. The malt is light but noticeable, esters are not present and hop intensity is low to medium.

Tierra Madre pours light golden in color, has excellent clarity and sports a medium, fluffy white head. The aroma is moderately light spicy, floral and herbal hops over a hint of malt. The flavor is light pils malt and corn underneath moderately light spicy and herbal hops. The beer finishes with a light bitterness and dryness with moderately light spicy and herbal hops.

Tierra Madre is a well-brewed and clean lager. The beer is quite quaffable with an enjoyable hoppiness that will be very welcomed among most craft lager drinkers. The corn flavor is pleasant and adds complexity to the pils malt while retaining drinkability.
