Cottage by Tall Oaks Farm+ Brewery is being evaluated as a Dark Mild (Category 13A) from the 2021 BJCP Style guidelines.

The beer pours with beautiful clarity, showcasing a rich mahogany brown color. It is topped with a firm, foamy, tan-colored head that exhibits excellent persistence.

Moderate aromas of milk chocolate shavings and dry malt grains dominate the nose, accompanied by notes of raw tree nuts and a subtle hint of green tea. Very low earthy hops are detected.

Roasted coffee notes lead the flavor profile, followed by chocolate and a small amount of grainy toast. The balance is decisively malt-forward. A neutral hop flavor provides moderate bitterness, present just enough to balance the malt character. The finish is short, featuring a pleasant lingering taste of milk chocolate and grain.

Medium-bodied with a moderate level of carbonation, contributing to a smooth and pleasant mouthfeel.

An exceptional example of its style. This is a highly drinkable beer that achieves a great balance of flavor. Its low ABV makes it highly enjoyable as a session beer, proving that a beer can be low in alcohol but high in flavor.
