Love City Lager

Love City Lager by Love City Brewing was evaluated as style 1B, American Lager, under the 2021 BJCP Style Guidelines.

A significant head filled the narrow confines of the pilsner glass before falling off quickly. Lots of tiny bubbles danced through the brilliant, light golden-hued beer on their way to the surface.

A pleasantly distinct, yet not overstated, noble hop aroma was immediately apparent, with light hints of bread-like malt in the background.

The hops that governed the aroma profile were not quite as pronounced in the flavor, where they instead delivered an even, light balance. This was a very clean, crisp, and refreshing example of the style.

The body was well conditioned and well attenuated, with a medium-to-low ABV.

Although thin in body and produced at lower alcoholic strength, this example of the style still provided a plethora of flavors that would satisfy even the most persnickety beer drinker.
