pFriem Czech Lager by pFriem Family Brewers was judged as Style 3B, Czech Premium Pale Lager, according to the 2021 BJCP Guidelines.
The poured beer revealed a deep yellow hue with a slight chill haze. It had a nice carbonation from the get-go with very good head retention and small, tight bubbles.
The aroma yielded a wonderful complex bouquet of sweet malt and negligible hop aroma (OK for style), and the initial taste had a nice balance of sweet malt blended with light hop bitterness that worked well. It had light, crisp, and clean flavors with little to no fruity elements.
The mouthfeel was light-to-medium with very good carbonation in the mouth. Overall, a nicely made Czech lager for the upcoming summer months.
