Destihl Breaks Ground On Multi-Million Dollar Facility

Destihl Brewery Expansion New Normal

Illinois-based Destihl Brewery has begun work on its new $14.5 million dollar, 45,000 square foot brewery in the town of Normal, IL. The facility will create around 70 new jobs and significantly increase the brewery's capacity from 15,000 barrels a year to a theoretical 150,000 bbls.

The goal of the facility, according to CEO and brewmaster Matt Potts, is to "create a destination brewery/tourist attraction in town... It should be a great catalyst for this entire area."

The 2017 opening date of the new brewery will also bring about the closing of the current production facility located in Bloomington when its lease ends next August.

"A project of this size brings a large investment – a very scary investment... but it's something that we know will be successful and well worth it in the end," Potts said.
