Celebrate Old 121 Brewhouse’s 6th Anniversary on March 29 with 6 exclusive beer releases, live music, BBQ, limited edition merch, and a special barrel-aged bottle release from 12 PM to 10 PM in Lakewood, CO.
Old 121 Brewhouse is holding a celebration for its 6th Anniversary from 12 – 10 PM on Saturday, March 29. The event will feature 6 beer releases, live music, a BBQ food truck, limited edition merch, a barrel-aged bottle release, and more!
The big highlight of the weekend will be the release of 6 beers which include highlighting some of the breweries closest production partners, barrel-aged releases, and a new experimental series:
Colorado Pivo: Brewed in collaboration with Root Shoot Malting, Old 121’s primary malt partner and based out of Loveland, Colorado, this is a Premium Czech Lager highlighting Root Shoot’s Lightning Pilsner, Munich 4, and Chit Malts. A pale, bitter, and extremely drinkable 5.8% ABV lager that highlights these malts grown up the road in Loveland and a healthy dose of Saaz hops.
6 Strain Saison: Brewed in collaboration with Propagate Yeast Labs located in Golden, Colorado, Head Brewer Sam Nicholson and Propagate Owner Matthew Peetz hand-selected 6 different farmhouse strains to create a fruity, complex, and dry 7.2% ABV saison.
Sailing the 6 C’s IPA: Brewed in collaboration with Crosby Hops, which is located in the Willamette Valley in Oregon, is a West Coast-style IPA brewed with hops that are all grown on Crosby’s farm. It includes Comet, Centennial, CGX Chinook, in Collaboration with Crosby Hops (did you count the six C’s?) that gives off strong pine, orange, and citrus flavors.
Single Malt Stout: This is a big and flavorful 14.7% ABV Imperial Stout aged in Colorado Single Malt Whiskey Barrels for 11 months that is filling and delicious. Notes of boozy French Toast, Creme Brulee, and sweet chocolate make this a sipper that doesn’t lack on complexity.
Golden Solera Sour: The latest iteration of this (now) 6 year solera will release for the 6th anniversary. Golden, crisp, and full of complexity from this wild fermentation has strong notes of citrus, sweet stone fruit, hay, and funk. With a complex and fruity array of flavors, at 6.5% ABV this beer is perfect for the craft beer sour enthusiast or the casual fruited sour drinker.
Booze Bubbles: A new series will be released for the anniversary party starting with this Seltzer-based Champagne. A 9.6% ABV seltzer that is dry and refreshing with the bright and slightly sweet flavor of champagne made from extracts and a seltzer based brewed at Old 121.
Old 121 Brewhouse will also be opening its seasonal patio, The Yukon St. Beer Garden, for the festivities, which will include beer garden seating, more dog-friendly areas, and lawn games.
Barbosa’s Barbeque Food Truck will be on site serving up some of the best BBQ in the state of Colorado and there will be live music featuring Nomad Neighbors (1-4 PM) and The Inablers (6-8 PM).
There will also be limited edition merch available for the celebration and a bottle release of the Single Malt Stout – there are only 121 bottles though, so they will go fast!
Old 121 Brewhouse is a small brewery in Lakewood that was founded in March 2019 – and the 1st anniversary party was canceled due to the COVID shut down. The brewery was purchased by now Owner Katie Nicholson and Co-Owner and Head Brewer Sam Nicholson in September of 2022 (who began working and brewing at Old 121 back in 2019). Not only has the brewery served delicious brews for six years, but has taken an active role in the community including Crowlers for the Frontlines, partnerships with the VFW, highlighting local artists, and partnering with local organizations like The Action Center.
