Becky Garrison is a Portland-based journalist and author who has been chronicling the Pacific Northwest’s craft culture—beer, cider, spirits, cannabis, and more—since 2014. Her work appears in Paste Magazine, SIP Magazine, Cidercraft, The Alcohol Professor, and others. Her latest book, Distilled in Washington: A History (The History Press, 2024), explores the state’s thriving distilling scene.
A former religious satire editor and author of seven books, including Red and Blue God, Black and Blue Church (PW starred review), Becky blends sharp insight with wit across both sacred and spirited subjects. Her upcoming book, Gaslighting for God (Lake Drive Books, 2026), takes aim at spiritual narcissism with biting humor and wisdom.
When not writing, she’s likely camping, kayaking, or exploring the Pacific Northwest’s rich festival and music scene.
