Brad Darnell is an expert in brewing science with a background in Chemical Engineering and a passion for sensory evaluation. After taking a Biochemical Engineering course that incorporated brewing science, Brad began homebrewing and has since earned a BJCP Grand Master III rank, along with certifications in Cider, Mead, and Beer Serving via the Cicerone Certification Program. As the Mountain/Northwest Regional Representative and Exam Director for the BJCP, he judges competitions both nationally and internationally.
Brad is also the founder of FermentedJudgment, a consultancy dedicated to sensory evaluation as well as helping professional brewers perfect their craft. An avid traveler, Brad explores breweries worldwide, always seeking out unique, high-quality, and terroir-inspired beers. His expertise and commitment to continued education make him a leading authority in the brewing community.
