John Tull is a Grand Master I Beer Judge with over two decades of experience in brewing, judging, and beer education. He began homebrewing in 1994 and quickly developed a deep passion for beer quality and evaluation. Since passing the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) exam in 2001, John has judged at more than 50 national and regional beer competitions and has organized eight, including the prestigious AHA National Homebrew Competition final round in 2009.
With strong ties to the Washoe Zephyr Zymurgists homebrew club, John is widely respected in the brewing community for his expertise in beer, mead, and cider. His deep knowledge and hands-on experience make him a trusted voice in the world of craft beer reviews and competitions.
Outside of beer, John is a wildlife ecologist dedicated to protecting desert ecosystems. He lives with his wife Marlene, their two daughters, and their dog Jaca.
