Simpson’s background includes serving as an administrator for RateBeer.com, where he shaped community policies for one of the world’s largest beer platforms. He also co-founded and served as Managing Editor of TheBeerCellar.com and was president of Ale Atlanta—once among the largest craft beer enthusiast groups in the country. An award-winning homebrewer, he holds multiple ribbons, including two from the AHA’s National Homebrew Competition, and owns one of the most extensive private beer cellars in the world.
His writing credits include regular columns in BEER magazine, In The Mix, and Hooters Magazine, offering thoughtful insights on seasonal styles and the evolving craft beer scene. He’s also a certified judge with the Kansas City BBQ Society (KCBS), reflecting his broader palate for food and beverage excellence.
