Gouden Carolus Tripel by Brouwerij Het Anker was judged as #26C (Belgian Tripel) per the 2021 BJCP Style Guidelines.
The pour of this beer revealed a light amber hue with nice white bubbles and slight chill haze. The aroma of this beer featured nice esters of spicy notes and coriander which played very well together. The flavor had a strong malt backbone with a light hop bitterness. The malt had a nice sweetness balanced with the spicy, peppery, floral flavors and esters along with a hint of coriander and honey overtones. The body and mouthfeel of this beer is about medium along with very good carbonation. The overall finish had a nice malt sweetness and a smooth finish with a somewhat light alcohol burn (as there should be at 9% ABV) that warmed the throat.
