The beer is brilliant gold and effervescent – clear enough to read a newspaper through. Despite its mild-mannered appearance, it is packed with flavor starting with fruit, light rye, light sweet berry and then an assertive yet very pleasant bitterness carry it to the finish. The spicy rye, citrus and berry flavors seasoned with big bitter hops linger long after the finish, and this is a good thing. The clean fermentation character stays out of the way and allows the rye and hop flavors to play off each other. Even though the beer is gold, some darker rye flavors hang out in the background. This is an excellent day to day drinking beer for those who want some flavor and satisfaction.
