Lynn Davis
Founder, Editor & Publisher

Lynn is the manager of The Beer Connoisseur®, a globally recognized media company covering the beer industry for its 8 million annual consumer and industry readers. He serves as the financial, sales, marketing, editorial, creative and media executive -- promoting the brand and expanding the company both nationally and in global markets.

The Beer Connoisseur is a respected industry media source for its professional coverage of news and trends. It is also revered as a high-quality producer of consumer interest content such as professional single-blind reviews of beer and cider in its Official Review and stories on topics ranging from Industry & People, Food & Travel, Beer & Trends, Education, Blogs, Brewery Tours and more. It delivers content to its readers online through its highly designed bi-monthly premium web magazine, daily editorial eNewsletters, social media and its annual coffee table-worthy print edition, The Beer in Review.

Lynn hails from Wilmington, North Carolina and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the late 90's. Upon graduation, he moved to Atlanta, GA where he worked in the printing industry serving magazine publishers and corporate communications accounts. Having appreciation for high-quality beer and being cognizant of the craft beer movement's momentum, Lynn took the deep dive in 2004 and launched The Beer Connoisseur® as his first entrepreneurial endeavor. Today, the brand and its content is one of the most recognizable for the beer industry worldwide.

Chris Guest
Managing Editor

Chris joined The Beer Connoisseur® in 2014 as an Editorial Assistant. Today, Chris now oversees editorial production and is responsible for all copy that is featured on the site as Managing Editor. He is both an astute observer and a voracious consumer of pop culture and is attuned to its vivid history as well. He is passionate about furthering his knowledge of all subjects – though his preferences are music, basketball and craft beer (specifically delicately fruited sours and hop-heavy hazy IPAs).

Chris graduated cum laude from Georgia State University with a bachelor's degree in Film & Video and a minor in Journalism. When not tapping away on his laptop’s keyboard, he enjoys playing guitar, crafting poetry, and writing both serious and satirical songs.

Jim Dykstra
Associate Editor

Jim, Editor, has called The Beer Connoisseur® home since September 2014. He received his bachelor's degree in Journalism from Kennesaw State University, and when not writing or copy editing for BC, he divides his time between espousing love, humor and profound empathy by riding the rhythmic waves of wordplay, melody, and Ultimate Frisbee.

Post-exercise, he prefers Bell's Best Brown Ale for rehydration, Founders Breakfast Stout for muscle recovery, and is not afraid to wear a denim dress shirt when the need arises.

Jonathan Ingram
Associate Editor

A freelance writer for 32 years before crossing over to the dark side of editing, Jonathan’s original “I Write for Beer” T-shirt was a tie-dyed model. He also enjoys running – yep – for beer. He’s written six books on motor racing, a sport pursued to the ends of the earth because he enjoyed being paid to travel and write stories daily about danger and passionate individualism. A perfect day ended at the nearest emporium holding good food, beer and conversation. A former editor of The Beer Connoisseur and a former "media relations guy" at Scofflaw Brewing Company, he continues to occasionally contribute stories on beer to various websites and magazines.

Owen Ogletree
Associate Editor

Owen is the founder/editor of Brewtopia.info, a columnist for Southern Brew News and an Associate Editor at The Beer Connoisseur. Beyond that, Owen is a lecturer at Knoxville's Brewing & Distilling Center and the founder/director of the Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting and Classic City Brew Fest. When not espousing his love of beer in word or festival form, Owen judges beers as a BJCP National Beer Judge and a Great American Beer Festival judge.

Bev Blackwood
Official Review Coordinator

Bev Blackwood joined The Beer Connoisseur® in 2018 as the Beer Review Coordinator, assigning beers from around the world to BC’s reviewers. He became a BJCP Judge in 2000 and currently holds the rank of National. A member of the Foam Rangers homebrew club, he teaches beer judging to Houston area beer lovers. Apart from his duties for The Beer Connoisseur®, he edits a regional beer periodical and has been writing about beer for over 20 years. He brewed professionally for Saint Arnold Brewing Company, picking up the brewery’s first gold medal at GABF, and has won numerous homebrewing medals in competitions around the United States. A graduate of Rice University, he also renovates homes, cooks, has a pilot’s license, shoots photo and video and works in graphic art.
