Cape May Brewing Company Sponsors TEDx Cape May on October 16

Cape May Brewing Company, as part of their commitment to civic discourse, is pleased to sponsor this year’s TEDxCapeMay -- What’s the Story? -- Sunday, October 16, at the Paul Schmidtchen Theater at Lower Cape Regional High School in Cape May.

Part of their larger dedication to community involvement and responsibility, TEDxCapeMay joins the list of several of CMBC’s other distinguished sponsorships, including the Exit Zero Cape May Jazz Festival, BikeMS: City to Shore, the Cape May Forum, and the Escape the Cape Triathlon.

“People come to the Jersey shore for two reasons, recreation and re-creation,” says event organizer Norris Clark. “TEDxCapeMay and CMBC combine to give people both.”

An offshoot of the well-known TED talks, TEDx supports independent organizers who want to create a TED-like event in their own community. Committed to the spirit of the mission of TED -- “Ideas worth spreading -- TEDx comes to Cape May for the fifth year.

“TEDxCapeMay is an important bridge-building event in the Cape May region,” says co-owner and President of CMBC, Ryan Krill. “Cape May Brewing Company is proud to be part of this community event, particularly with this year’s theme, What’s the Story?. We like to think that we’ve become part of the story of Cape May, and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to connect our tale with the larger conversation in Cape May through this thought-provoking and influential symposium.”

Krill was a speaker for TEDxCapeMay 2013, and Cape May Brewing Company has been an honored sponsor for the past three years. This year’s speakers will include experts on cybersecurity, sustainable preservation, fitness, self-motivation in STEM careers, politics in a digital age, and storytelling.

“TEDxCapeMay brings the best ‘ideas worth spreading’ to Cape May while CMBC brings the best beer worth drinking,” says Clark. “Great ideas should always be discussed over beer.”

Your ticket includes an open bar lunch reception at the Congress Hall Hotel, where Cape May Brewing Company will be pouring their brews. In addition, you’ll receive a commemorative water bottle, co-branded with CMBC’s logo.
