Good People Brewing Co., the oldest and largest craft brewery in the state of Alabama, announces El Gordo Day, a festival celebrating El Gordo, a limited release Russian Imperial Stout.

El Gordo is a Russian Imperial Stout clocking in at 13.9% ABV, the legal limit in the state of Alabama. Notes of roasted malts, vanilla, bitter chocolate, and bourbon give this full-bodied stout its muscle and richness. In 2015, Paste Magazine named it the Best Non-Barrel Aged Imperial Stout in a blind taste test.

The Dia Del Gordo Festival will take place on Saturday, December 10th at 1:00 pm at Good People Brewing Co (114 14th Street South, Birmingham, AL 35233). The brewery plans to have food trucks, live music, rare drafts, and other entertainment throughout the day.

A limited number of 750mL bottles will be available for sale only at the brewery starting on December 10th. Good People Brewing will be offering 2014 El Gordo, 2015 El Gordo, 2016 El Gordo, 2016 Barrel-Aged El Gordo, and 2016 El Gordo Mole, along with a handful of other bottled offerings. All bottle purchases will be first come first serve.

The Good People Taproom will also be offering a variety of different beers on draft for full pours and samples. Some of the limited availability drafts will include 2016 El Gordo, 2016 El Gordo Mole, and Fatso.

Good People Brewing will not be able to pre-sell or ship bottles to anyone interested in acquiring one. All purchases must be made at the brewery in person with a valid ID.
