StillFire Brewing Releases “The Legend” Beer and Hosts Fundraising Event in Honor of Late Student

StillFire Brewing in Suwanee, Georgia has announced the release of a new beer called "The Legend" in honor of Christopher Miles, a North Gwinnett High School graduate who passed away from Glioblastoma earlier this year. Full details on this beer and its corresponding event are below.

Suwanee, GA – StillFire Brewing’s beer release, “The Legend,” is an easy-drinking ale (available in 4-packs and on draft) that has been created in honor of Christopher Miles, a Suwanee native and North Gwinnett High School graduate who lost his battle with Glioblastoma earlier this year. Christopher was known for his legendary speeches, loyalty and love for his friends and family, and for his outstanding impact on the community. His legacy continues to live on through those who knew and loved him. A portion of proceeds from each beer sold will be donated to the Our Friend Christopher Memorial in his honor.

Christopher “The Legend”  Miles was a graduate of North Gwinnett High School in 2019. He was diagnosed with Glioblastoma 6 days following his high school graduation. Christopher was a standout athlete in football and basketball, having received many county and state accolades. Following his diagnosis with Glioblastoma in May of 2019, Christopher went on to complete his first semester of college at Georgia Southern while also balancing cancer treatment. He took it in stride, saying, “This is just a bump in the road, life is meant o be lived.” Christopher was truly a driven young man, never letting adversity stand in his way. A memorial called “Our Friend Christopher” was set up in his name almost immediately following Christopher’s passing in spring of 2020. The organization will annually award two scholarships to senior athletes graduating from North Gwinnett High School in Christopher’s name.

“At StillFire Brewing, we are proud to support the Our Friend Christopher organization,” said Aaron Bisges, general manager of StillFire Brewing. “We have greatly enjoyed getting to know the Miles family and having Christopher’s team members join us at the beginning of The Legend’s brewing process was very special. From what we’ve heard Christopher was an incredible young man, and it is our pleasure to host this fundraiser in his honor.”

On September 19th, we invite you to join us for the Christopher Memorial Charity Fundraiser. Kicking off at 5:00 p.m. in the taproom, the event will feature food from the Baltimore Crab Cake and Cattywampus food trucks and live music from Malachi Mills and the Butt Neckid Band. A portion of proceeds from every “The Legend” 4-pack, full pours, and T-shirts sold during the event will go directly to the charity.
