Description

A spirited collab originally brewed with our friends at Victory Brands, this tropical wheat brings waves of island hopping fruit aromas (Calypso, Citra, El Dorado, and Amarillo) carried on a soft creamy body. No sand in this one—we promise.

Dirty Beaches by Scofflaw Brewing Co. was reviewed according to the 2021 BJCP Style Guidelines, Style 21A, American IPA.

The initial pour delivers a profusion of tropical fruity notes to the nostrils. Papayas, mangos and pineapple dominate and are accompanied by a firm citrus note.

Quite hazy with a pale yellow hue and prominent white head that persisted.

The fruity aromas that dominated the aroma profile are also the main contributor to the flavor profile and are enhanced by a lack of malt character. Citrus fruit and malted wheat take a secondary position to aforementioned fruitiness and lead to a medium bitter finish.

A bit thin in body with a light carbonation tingle on the tongue. Alcohol warmth evident but not offensive.

An American IPA that in many respects crossed styles with the New England IPA. Lots of fruit and a nice smack of citrus character.
