The initial aroma was a bit perfumy and off-putting but if you can get past that, there is a nice beer underneath. This particular example was a little oxidized so the caramel became apparent while the hops slid to the background. There was a touch of wet cardboard behind it all as well. The hops were generically citrus and floral -- no specific varietal came to mind. In the flavor, a big punch of resin remained and carried throughout the palate into the finish. As it warms, it becomes somewhat herbal in nature. It’s a well-balanced beer, just get it fresh since the shelf-life on beers like this tend to be very short.
