Brake Light IPA by Garage Brewing Co. is classified as a Blonde Ale (Style 18A) per the 2015 BJCP Style Guidelines.
This beer is listed as a Light IPA according to the packaging, but it is more of a Blonde Ale and will be judged as such. This beer clocks in at 4.5 percent ABV and was light from the get-go. Nice aroma in the nose and the pour – very hoppy. The pour revealed a light straw color that was almost translucent in color. The flavor was light in all senses, which is fine for a Blonde Ale. Very light malt, very light hops with a light body and mouthfeel. Solid carbonation. Overall, this is a nice, smooth, clean brew that’s light in the palate.
