Stick Shift Lager by Garage Brewing Co. is an American Light Lager and is being evaluated as an American Light Lager (category 1A from the 2021 BJCP Beer Style Guidelines). American Light Lagers are known for their very light flavor profile, low bitterness and high attenuation.

Stick Shift Lager pours light golden in color with crystal clarity and a medium white head. The aroma is a light continental pils malt with a hint of lemon hops; the aroma is very clean with no esters. The flavor is a hint of pils malt with a hint of hops and a moderate carbonic bite. The finish is very refreshing with a light bitterness, a hint of pils malt and a carbonic bite.

The flavors in Stick Shift Lager are appropriately very light, but the flavors that are present are of very high quality. This beer is very well brewed in a category where any flaw gets magnified. This is very refreshing and very quaffable beer. This is a beer that light lager drinkers will enjoy and pilsner aficionados will appreciate.
