What’s your favorite aspect of this beer (flavor, aroma, etc.)?
The mix of the almond flavor combined with the richness of the vanilla bean is really fun.
Where does this beer’s name come from?
At pFriem we simply call the beer what they are, in this case it is a beer inspired by a Macaron built on barrel aged imperial stout base.
Is this your “desert island beer?”
Maybe “dessert island” beer, haha not at all on a desert island beer, this one is an experience, not an every day crusher.
Can you describe this beer in 10 words or less?
An inky black elixir with a thin cap of dense espresso foam, puts forth aromas of heady vanilla, toasty almonds and sugar cookies. Silken flavors of vanilla bean, marzipan, malted milk chocolate, and brulée sugar with a soft velveteen finish.
Do you know a story – or have a personal story – that revolves around this beer?
This beer is a story in itself, its trying be a beer leaning into a pastry stout, rather than a pastry trying to be a beer.
What’s a good food pairing for this beer?
This beer is a paired well with itself, but would be fun to have along side of a Macaron.
