Old 121 Brewhouse to Mark 121 Day With Beer Releases, Live Music, and a Celebration of Lakewood’s 121 Corridor
Old 121 Brewhouse is celebrating 121 Day with a full day of craft beer, local biz, and Lakewood love. The yearly event that takes place at the brewery’s original location has over time blossomed into an officially recognized city holiday! Attendees can look forward to beer releases, live music and food plus giveaways and a free pint toast at 1:21pm.
According to a press release from Old 121 Brewhouse, the venue for the celebration will be Wadsworth (CO Hwy 121) in Lakewood, with an all-day extravaganza.
The festivities will include beer releases, live entertainment, Shuck Brothers Mobile Oyster Bar, giveaways, and celebrating all things Lakewood and the 121 Corridor.
The 6th annual event was officially declared a Lakewood city holiday in 2025 by Lakewood Mayor Wendi Strom and the proclamation will be renewed at the upcoming Lakewood City Council meeting on Monday, January 12, 2026.
Old 121 Brewhouse is named after State Highway 121 (Wadsworth Blvd) and 121 Day is a day to not only celebrate the brewery, but all of the small businesses along the road, which is a major artery through the City of Lakewood. As part of the festivities at Ye Olde 121 Public House (Old 121’s Wadsworth location), there will be historical photos from businesses and organizations along Wadsworth Blvd. as well as giveaways every hour celebrating establishments along the corridor from businesses like Brother’s BBQ, Red Bus Coffee, Timeless Relics & What-Knots, and more.
“Whereas Wadsworth is now home to dozens of Lakewood restaurants and small businesses lining both sides of this Lakewood corridor, including Old 121 Brewhouse, which shares the highway’s name,” states the proclamation. “Lakewood believes that January 21, or 1/21, is an ideal date to celebrate this vital Lakewood corridor and the local businesses, residences and parks that line it, and an opportunity for Lakewood residents and residents across our region to frequent this corridor and visit Lakewood small businesses.”
“This community in Lakewood really is the best,” says Old 121 Brewhouse Owner Katie Nicholson. “This holiday was always meant to be an opportunity to celebrate the amazing things happening on Colorado Highway 121 and to give small businesses a boost during an otherwise slow time of year. To be able to celebrate it at our original location on Wadsworth and highlight other great businesses in our neighborhood is really incredible. It’s such a fun day and may even seem a little silly, but you won’t find a better party on a Wednesday in January!”
To celebrate the event, Ye Olde 121 Public House will be opening at 12 PM and will have Shuck Brothers Mobile Oyster Bar on site from 1 – 7 PM serving oysters, lobster rolls, and more. As a special tribute, at 1:21 PM, all patrons at the brewery will receive a free pint of Old 121 beer for a toast.
There will be 3 new beverages available on the day as well including an Oyster Helles Lager brewed in partnership with Shuck Brothers, a German Pilsner, and a new hard-seltzer-based pickle shot. A limited time offering for the day will be an Oyster Helles Lager red beer served with a sidecar pickle shot – a perfect pairing for a plate of oysters. The two lagers being released were also brewed with locally owned Root Shoot and Troubadour malts.
The entertainment starts during the lunch hour and will continue all day with The One and Only Jon Ham performing from 12:30 to 3:30 PM, Zambi String Band from 5 to 7 PM, and Great 303 Karaoke will host karaoke from 8 PM to Midnight.
As part of the festivities, there will be a growler playing competition (jug player style) during the Zambi String Band set as well as voting to crown the 121 Day Karaoke Champion during karaoke.
In addition to the winners of the competitions, there will be giveaways every hour from businesses along Wadsworth Blvd. and from Old 121 Brewhouse. Prizes will include gift certificates, a 2026 Hop Passport, and even a 2026 Mug Club Membership from Old 121 Brewhouse (a $175 value). In addition to the free pint at 1:21 PM, the 121st tab of the day will also be free.
If anyone is worried about not being able to enjoy the festivities, Old 121 Brewhouse is once again offering work excuses for any individual who may need them.
There will be expanded seating available in a heated tent to accommodate guests. In the tent, there will also be an homage to the history of Lakewood and the 121 Corridor for patrons to explore throughout the event.
