Great Lakes Brewing and Pinter Let Beer Lovers Brew Burning River Pale Ale for Themselves

Great Lakes Brewing Company and Pinter are collaborating to bring back the Burning River Pale Ale – this time allowing fans of the beer to brew it for themselves at home! The brew, a recreation of the legendary 1992 pale ale with bright citrus and balanced malt character, is to be brewed in Pinter’s home brewing system. It’s part of an expanding range of collaborations that bring popular craft beers straight to the consumer in new, interactive ways.
A press release from Pinter announced that The Burning River Pale Ale Pinter Pack will be available for order exclusively through Pinter’s website: https://pinter.com/greatlakes. It will not be available for purchase via Great Lakes Brewing Co.
The Pinter machine is available for free when you sign up for one of their flexible beer plans (full Ts&Cs apply).
Burning River Pale Ale, a beloved flagship beer that Great Lakes brewed for decades, has not been available in packaged form for some time. Through this collaboration it will once again be available for beer lovers — this time in Pinter form, allowing fans to brew fresh, draft-quality Burning River right at home.
Burning River is a cult classic that debuted in 1992, an English-inspired Pale Ale brewed with American C-hops. Refreshing flickers of grapefruit and pine illuminate biscuity, bready malt flavors for a bright and balanced 6.0% ABV brew.
This marks Pinter’s second major collaboration with a legendary American brewery in 2025, following the highly successful April release with Lagunitas. It also represents the third U.S. partnership this year in Pinter’s growing portfolio of collaborations with some of America’s most respected craft breweries.
