3 Daughters Misses Awards Ceremony to Open Brewery as Hurricane Shelter

Florida's 3 Daughters Brewing was awarded the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's 2017 Emerging Business Achievement Award, placing it at the top of an elite group of small businesses. The brewery was not able to attend the award ceremony due to Hurricane Irma, choosing to open its brewery as a shelter for some "55 people, 12 dogs and 6 cats," according owner Leigh Harting. (ST. PETERSBURG, FL) – 3 Daughters Brewing, one of the fastest growing regional breweries from Florida, has been awarded with the 2017 Emerging Business Achievement Award during the the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's annual Dream Big Small Business of the Year Award Celebration, presented by MetLife. The annual awards ceremony celebrates the achievements of small businesses and honors their contributions to America’s economic growth.

“We’re honored to be recognized by the US Chamber as a small business helping to grow the economy in Florida”, said Mike Harting, CEO of 3 Daughters Brewing. “We were thrilled to be among such an elite group of national finalists. We hope to continue being a leader in our community and helping it grow along with the rest of Florida.”

The Emerging Business Achievement Award recognizes a start-up company that has attained outstanding business and recognizes that it exemplifies the spirit of innovation, entrepreneurship and individual initiative.

Award winners were announced at the Dream Big Awards Celebration as part of the 2017 Small Business Summit, which took place September 10-13, 2017 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. 3 Daughters Brewing was not able to attend because they opened up the brewery as a resource during Hurricane Irma.
