Cape May Brewing and Asher’s Chocolate Team Up to Launch Chocolate-Covered Pretzel Beer
Cape May Brewing Company is bringing a sweet-and-salty twist to its seasonal lineup through a collaboration with Pennsylvania-based Asher’s Chocolate Co. The partnership combines craft beer and chocolate-making expertise to create a limited-edition chocolate-covered pretzel ale and two special-edition candies. The unique treats celebrate the flavors of malt, chocolate and sea salt just in time for the holiday season.
The products are expected to hit shelves the week of November 6 and will be available while supplies last, according to a press release from Cape May Brewing and Asher’s Chocolate.
The limited release will include the Dipped & Twisted: a Chocolate-Covered Pretzel Imperial Brown Ale and two limited-edition candies, Cape May Crunch and Malted Sea Salt Caramels.
Brewed with Asher’s chocolate, sea salt and caramel, the new beer features a smooth, sweet and salty flavor and 8% ABV. Customers can find Dipped & Twisted: a Chocolate-Covered Pretzel Imperial Brown Ale on draft and in six-packs at the Cape May Brewing Tasting Room in Cape May, New Jersey and select locations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
“We are delighted to announce this partnership with Asher’s Chocolate Co! Our brewmasters have been working hard with their chocolatiers craft a one-of-a-kind sweet-and-salty beer,” says Ryan Krill, president and co-founder, Cape May Brewing Company.
Infused with a malt extract to create a hoppy flavor, the salty Cape May Crunch and chocolatey Malted Sea Salt Caramel candies do not contain alcohol. Customers can find pre-packaged coffee bags of the two chocolates at Asher’s Chocolate Retail Store & Candy Factory in Souderton, Pennsylvania and online at ashers.com/shop.
“We’re excited to pair our favorite snacks, chocolate-covered pretzels, with malted beer flavors to create some truly unique treats,” says Chester Asher, fifth-generation marketing director, Asher’s Chocolate Co.
Tasting events to take place at the Cape May Brewing Tasting Room (1250 Hornet Road, Cape May, New Jersey) on Friday, November 6 and Asher’s Chocolate Retail Store & Candy Factory (80 Wambold Road, Souderton, Pennsylvania) on Tuesday, November 10. These events will feature the freshly packaged batches of the limited-edition collaboration ale and chocolates, Asher’s milk and dark chocolate-covered pretzels and exclusive branded merchandise.
