Josh Weikert
Josh Weikert is a highly accomplished homebrewer, beer judge, and educator based in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. He began homebrewing in 2007 as a creative outlet during graduate school, and his passion for the craft has only grown since. A founding member and past president of the Stoney Creek Homebrewers, Josh has earned medals in every BJCP beer style and holds the prestigious titles of BJCP Grand Master I Judge and Certified Cicerone. He’s also a two-time Eastern Pennsylvania Homebrewer of the Year and the voice behind the popular blog Beer: Simple.
Outside the brewhouse, Josh is a professor and lecturer in political science, specializing in political communication and psychology. His analytical mindset and love for precision shine through in both his brewing techniques and writing. He shares his homebrewing adventures with his wife, Barbara—an award-winning brewer in her own right—and their enthusiastic brew-day companion, Biscuit the dog.
Josh gained national attention in 2024 when he became a Jeopardy! champion, showcasing his broad knowledge base and quick thinking — qualities that also serve him well in his brewing and academic pursuits.
