Michael McGuire
Michael McGuire is a seasoned beer judge and passionate homebrewer with roots dating back to 1983. Starting his brewing journey in Baton Rouge, LA, Mike has brewed across multiple states, including Illinois, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and North Carolina. He helped found the Lancaster County Brewers homebrew club and has been an active member of several respected brewing communities such as BURP, Wort Hogs, and CARBOY. Certified by the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) since 2002, Mike earned a National rank in 2005.
He has judged extensively in regional and national competitions sponsored by the American Homebrewers Association (AHA) as well as state-level contests like the Virginia Craft Beer Cup and the Maryland Governor’s Cup. His deep expertise and long-standing commitment make him a trusted authority in beer evaluation and homebrewing.
