Ryan Newhouse

Ryan Newhouse is a Montana-based freelance writer, author, and craft beer consultant with a passion for storytelling and a deep-rooted appreciation for beer. Since moving to Montana in 2002, he has authored three books on the state’s brewing culture and created the popular Montana Brewery Passport. His writing spans travel, the environment, business, and more—but beer remains his favorite subject, fueled by his German heritage and years of exploration, one pint at a time.

Beyond writing, Ryan brings experience in marketing, outreach, and small business development. He has managed teams, budgets, nonprofit organizations, and digital projects, including website design and event planning. Whether crafting press releases, building communications strategies, or diving into environmental reporting, Ryan delivers content that connects, informs, and inspires. When he’s not writing, he’s out in Montana’s woods, rivers, and mountains with his two kids.
