He has authored or co-authored fifteen books, including the internationally acclaimed The World Atlas of Beer (with Tim Webb) and Canadian Spirits, the definitive guide to Canadian distilleries. Based in Toronto, Stephen travels globally to explore top breweries and distilleries, frequently presenting lectures and tastings to audiences of all sizes.
An expert in both beer and spirits, Stephen has judged at some of the industry’s most prestigious competitions, including the World Beer Awards, Brussels Beer Challenge, Spirits Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, and the International Rum Festival. Since 2022, he has also served as organizer and head judge of the Canada Beer Cup, further solidifying his influence and leadership in the craft beverage world.
