This Watermelon Gose poured a pale yellow color with a huge (2-3”) white head of tiny bubbles that dissipated quickly; the beer itself was relatively clear for a Gose with only a slight haze. The aroma was notably tart with plenty of watermelon and a bit of breadiness in the nose. The flavor was dominated by watermelon and lactic tartness with some salt but little to no coriander -- two common ingredients in a traditional Gose. This beer had a lasting, dry finish, its early effervescence having faded long before. The mouthfeel was thoroughly tart, with an acidic, palate-coating character. Overall, this was a very refreshing beer, very light in color, hops and alcohol; perfect for a summer evening (as long as one enjoys the flavor of watermelon).
