Hoppin’ Frog Brewery Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Special Releases, Events, and Local Partnerships

Hoppin’ Frog Brewery is celebrating its 20th Anniversary with limited release beers, special events, and community involvement. The 2026 celebrations will highlight the brewery’s award-winning craft and its deep foundations in Akron. The activities celebrate the people, partnerships and passion that have been the fabric of Hoppin’ Frog for 20 years.
A press release from Hoppin’ Frog revealed that the celebrations will be year-long.
The anniversary kicked off with the debut of a 20th Anniversary Cellar Select tap handle, featuring rotating “greatest hits” from Hoppin’ Frog’s cellar. In addition, the brewery unveiled a new menu beginning February 5th, giving guests more reasons to gather, celebrate, and enjoy both familiar favorites and new offerings.
As part of its ongoing community commitment, Hoppin’ Frog has donated a Brew Experience to benefit Akron Rotary Camp for Children with Special Needs, which will be auctioned during the Akron Chili Open on February 6th. Over the past decade, Hoppin’ Frog’s Brew Experiences have raised more than $75,000 for local charities, supporting a wide range of Akron-area causes.
While internationally known for its bold, distinctive beers, the 20th anniversary is about more than brewing. It reflects the relationships built over two decades—locally in the taproom and globally through distribution—and the people who helped shape the brewery along the way.
“Opening Hoppin’ Frog from scratch and operating the brewery for the last 20 years has been a wild ride,” said Fred Karm, Founder and Brewmaster. “There have been plenty of laughs, fun, and twists and turns, but what stands out most are the friendships built over the past two decades. Creating interesting, shareable beers became the catalyst for bringing people together, and that focus has allowed us to create beers that are truly memorable.”
