KC Bier Co Officially Breaks Ground on Second Location in Lenexa, Kansas
Kansas City’s largest locally-owned brewery, Kansas City Bier Company, held a groundbreaking ceremony for their upcoming second retail location in Lenexa, Kansas, on Friday, August 29th, 2025. Over 100 people were in attendance, including KC Bier Co founder and CEO Steve Holle, Camille Christie of West Star Development, the mayor of Lenexa, Julie Sayers, and Chris Spoor of Complete Construction Services.
The two-acre site will include a Bierhalle, brewery, rentable event space, covered patio, and large Biergarten with a children’s play area, off-leash dog zone, and amphitheater. Steve Holle seeks to bring the sense of community he experienced in Germany to the location. “As a student in Germany, I participated in the common destinations of neighborhood pubs and biergartens where people of all ages, sexes, races, and walks of life enjoyed good food, cold bier, and a shared sense of community,” Holle said during the ceremony’s opening remarks. “While KC Bier Co has the mission to brew authentic German-style bier, we also seek to bring to the residents of Kansas City the basic German concept that good food and good bier are best enjoyed as a community at a venue like a Biergarten, surrounded by neighbors and friends”.
Construction on the project is underway, and is anticipated to be completed in June of 2026.
