Matty Burkett, Long-Time Bartender, Acquires Ledge Brewing Company and Ushers in a New Era

Matty Burkett, beloved bartender and general manager for many years, is the new owner of Ledge Brewing Co., signaling a new era for the brewery. Deeply tied to the community and a craft beer enthusiast, Burkett wants to maintain the brewery’s history while injecting new elements as well. The purchase paves the way for a greater variety of choices, enriched experiences and deeper connection to the local outdoors while holding true to the brewery’s foundation.
A press release from Ledge Brewing revealed that the company will continue to operate under its existing name, honoring the tradition and loyal following it has built over the years. Burkett and his team plan to preserve the brewery’s signature styles while introducing new seasonal releases, events, and partnerships that highlight local outdoor activities and groups.
“Ledge Brewing Company has always been a gathering place for friends, families, and craft beer lovers,” said Burkett. “My goal is to honor that tradition while bringing fresh energy and new ideas that make the brewery an even stronger part of our local community. We’re committed to maintaining what people already love about Ledge, and building on it.”
The brewery’s current staff will remain in place, including head brewer Jake LeFeuvre, who joined the team this past spring, ensuring continuity in brewing operations and customer experience. Plans for the coming year include upgrades to the taproom, expanded outdoor seating, new community events, expansion of private event offerings, and collaborations with local organizations.
Locals are already celebrating Ledge’s next chapter. Margaret Graciano, co-owner of Old Village Bakery in North Conway, recently hosted their staff holiday party at the brewery. “We were so excited to be the first to host a private event at Ledge after the sale of the business,” Graciano said. “The event space works really well for gatherings. We’ve always loved Ledge – the atmosphere, the beer, and especially the staff. As a business owner myself, it’s exciting to see what’s next for Ledge and to support another local business stepping into a new chapter.”
Ledge also announced that it will maintain its commitment to sustainable brewing practices, local sourcing, and engagement with the outdoor enthusiasts in the Mount Washington Valley. Additional details about special events celebrating the transition will be released in the coming weeks.
