Crying Eagle to Release Strawberry Lager: A Refreshing Brew with Real Louisiana Strawberries

Crying Eagle Brewing Company is gearing up to welcome the strawberry season in Louisiana with its first new canned release in over two years. Brewed with real local strawberries, the Strawberry Lager will be available on draft and in cans for a full day launch event. Live music, local food vendors and a chance to tour the brewery are some of the things to look forward to during the launch event plus the privilege of being among the first to taste this bright, fruit-forward seasonal beer.
In a press release, Crying Eagle Brewing Company announced that the daytime launch event for the Strawberry Lager will take place at its University location on Saturday, May 9, 2026 starting 11:00 Am.
Titled ‘Strawberry Lager Launch Party: Stop and Smell the Strawberries’, the event highlights Louisiana’s strawberry season with a full day of beer, food, and live entertainment.
Brewed with Louisiana rice for a clean, light body and conditioned with real Louisiana strawberries, Strawberry Lager pours with a soft rosy hue and a fresh, just-picked strawberry aroma. The beer delivers a bright, fruit-forward profile with a smooth, refreshing finish.
“This is our first new canned release in over two years, so we wanted to make sure it was something that felt right for both our lineup and our region,” said Ryan O’Donnell, Brewmaster at Crying Eagle Brewing Company. “Strawberry Lager is built on the Louisiana Lager base that our guests already know, with the addition of real Louisiana strawberries to bring a fresh, seasonal character that’s easy to enjoy.”
The University location will serve as the primary event site, featuring a curated vendor area with fresh strawberries and local preserves, lawn games, and open access to the brewery. Guests will have the opportunity to explore the brewing space through a self-guided experience and interact with the team behind the beer.
A limited quantity of Strawberry Lager glassware will be available and offered to the first 50 guests who purchase a 6-pack or growler fill. Additional guests will have the opportunity to receive a complimentary koozie with qualifying purchases while supplies last.
A highlight of the event includes a Strawberry Basket Giveaway featuring local strawberries, preserves, Crying Eagle merchandise, and more, reinforcing the event’s connection to regional agriculture and seasonal ingredients.
Crying Eagle’s Lakefront location will also begin pouring Strawberry Lager the same day, offering guests an additional opportunity to experience the release in a waterfront setting alongside a featured food special.
The Strawberry Lager Launch Party is intended to establish an annual seasonal tradition for the brewery, combining new beer releases with a broader guest experience that brings together local flavor, live entertainment, and community engagement.
