Heavenly Helles by Church Street Brewing Co. is a Munich Helles and is being evaluated as a Munich Helles (category 4A in the 2015 BJCP Beer Style Guidelines). Munich Helles are golden lagers with a moderate pils malt character with a slight hop presence throughout.

Heavenly Helles pours golden in color with good clarity and a medium white head. The aroma is moderately light bready malt with light spicy and herbal hops. The flavor is moderately light bready malt with a hint of sweetness; light herbal hops provide balance. The beer finishes lightly bitter with a moderate-light bready malt and a hint of herbal hops.

Heavenly Helles is a well-made Munich Helles. The malt has a slight richness yet never becomes heavy, maintaining excellent quaffability. The hops are on the low side for what one would experience in Munich but are in line with typical hopping levels of Munich Helles in the U.S.
