Bretta III by pFriem Family Brewers was judged under the 2015 BJCP Style Guidelines for 28A Brett Beer.

Hop and yeast aromatics work together producing alluring fruit aromas delightfully seasoned with pineapple and tropical fruit and a faint earthiness. The aroma has no tart or sour notes and nothing harsh or out of place. The beer drops hazy gold topped with a 2” creamy white cap slowly receding to a thick film. The pour produces a steady stream of bubbles and has some yeast particles in the bottom. The flavors present a subtle alchemy between hop and yeast revealing rich, complex layers of fruit taking the best parts of the tropical fruit and stone fruit notes from both the yeast and the hops. The is expertly dry-hopped — coaxing rice nuance out of fruit flavors that balance and soften a pleasant trace of tartness. The hops do most of their work in the fruit flavors leaving a pleasant bitter accent that works with the yeast. There are no off flavors, nothing out of place and nothing acidic, lactic, sharp or harsh. The beer is an elegant companion to a fine meal and the special occasion of the week.
