Bright Pale Ale 2022 by pFriem Family Brewers was judged under the new 2021 BJCP Guideline as #18B, American Pale Ale.
The poured beer had a very nice straw-colored hue with very good clarity. Good carbonation that dissipated quickly in the glass. The aroma was very subtle with malt sweetness and a touch of hops. The taste of the beer revealed a nice malt sweetness that was very light. The hop bittering for this beer was also restrained and was light as well. Along with the sweetness there were slight hints of melon in the hop flavor, but overall it was somewhat bland. The body and the mouthfeel of the beer was light, almost watery in the mouth. The overall impression of this beer is that it is very light in both flavor, body and alcohol. One could call this a session pale and would be a nice complement for those upcoming hot summer days.
