From the Editor (Issue 66)

Hello readers! We are back for the start of a new month with a brand-new edition of The Beer Connoisseur Magazine! Spring has truly sprung as there is plenty of greenery on the trees in my neck of the woods, though temperatures continue to stubbornly cling to their lower registers. Never fear, though, as this issue of the magazine is sure to slake my thirst for all things beer and breweries.

The issue starts off with one of our highly read best-of lists. This list highlights the Top 42 Lagers our judges have had the pleasure and privilege to imbibe over the course of history. There are a few surprises in store within the piece, so be sure to check it out.

We explore some of the best alcohol subscription clubs around with our 18 Great Alcohol Subscription Clubs for Enthusiasts story. From wine to bespoke cocktails alongside whiskey, gin and, of course, beer, this list has plenty of options for fans of any booze.

Martin Thibault takes a trek to the insular northeastern region of Lithuania to discover The Secrets of Lithuanian Farmhouse Brewing in the country, which is highly secretive and highly competitive. It’s worth it, though, as the beers created via this method are truly one-of-a-kind and unforgettable, as Martin conveys.

Everyone likes beer and ice cream, right?! Well, with that being the case (save for our poor lactose-intolerant friends and celiac sufferers), our story on Beer and Ice Cream Recipes provides multiple ways to combine these two famed warm-weather treats, including beer floats, beer sorbets and more!

Finding beer on tap in bars in restaurants is trivial in the U.S. However, finding bars or restaurants that serve aged beers or have a stocked beer cellar is far rarer. Check out this list of Nine US Bars with Great Beer Cellars and Terrific Aged Beers. All of the spots listed are perfect for the connoisseur craving that singular aged beer flavor.

Ever wanted to get a kegerator for your home bar or outdoor area but didn’t know where to start? Our Kegerators: Everything You Need to Know story is a great jumping-off point if you’re wondering what kegerators are for, why they are useful for beer fans and even a few good options that are available to purchase.

Moonshine. It’s a word that has various connotations, especially in the South, but it is still (get it?) quite popular and is even available to purchase legally in a few states. Those looking to learn more about this oft-bootlegged beverage’s history and its still-sketchy legality will find all the answers in our The Fascinating History of Moonshine in the US story.

As always, this issue is jam-packed with Industry News, Official Reviews and Brewer Q&As for the discerning beer fan.

We hope you enjoy the issue, and thanks for reading!

Cheers,
